Our Elder Law Practice Areas

Elder Law focuses on the legal needs of the elderly and specifically the life needs of the senior and their family.  As seniors are living longer, the biggest planning needs can range from protecting against creditors, estate tax avoidance, probate avoidance and planning for long term care needs. In fact, paying for long term care expenses for seniors and aging baby boomers is a health care crisis. Our office recognizes the right of our clients for us to fully recognize elder law issues and fully address the needs of their aging clients. After all, the best estate plan is worthless if the long term needs have eaten up the entire estate.

Why is Elder Law so important?  Because 80 million baby boomers are moving into “golden years” with one person attaining age 50 every seven seconds. There is, therefore, a great need to be informed. Studies show that 2 out of 5 Americans over age 65 will enter a Nursing Home, even though they thought they never would. In 7 out of 10 couples, one spouse will need Long Term Care. 78% of us live in “non traditional families”, which require special attention, planning and protecting.
